L'Âme d'Aiguille
L'Âme d'Aiguille was born from a single oak cross-section and a simple idea: to capture the feeling of mountain peaks emerging from a sea of clouds.

At its center lies a miniature landscape shaped from natural wood and suspended within layers of translucent resin. Depending on the light and viewing angle, the scene reveals new details — hidden ridges, distant peaks and drifting mist frozen beneath the surface.
Every contour, crack and grain pattern comes directly from the tree itself. Nothing was designed by a machine or repeated from a template. The landscape was discovered rather than created, then carefully brought to life through weeks of shaping, carving and resin work.
More than a coffee table, L'Âme d'Aiguille is a functional sculpture — a piece intended to spark curiosity, invite closer inspection and reward attention over time.
This is the original piece featured in the complete build documentary, allowing its future owner to follow the entire journey from raw oak slab to finished artwork.
After its completion, I discovered a striking resemblance between the central peak hidden within the resin and Aiguille du Midi ("Southern Needle") in the Mont Blanc massif of the French Alps, often seen emerging above a sea of clouds.
That unexpected similarity became the inspiration behind the name:
L'Âme d'Aiguille — The Soul of the Needle.
